Donegal Radio Club are happy to report that the Barnesmore VHF Repeater, EI2JPG, is now in service as of Sunday 21st June @ 13:00, after a long anticipated wait for the antenna installation.
The Input Frequency is 145.150 with 67Hz Tone
The Output Frequency is 145.750
On Monday 15th June, the folded dipole antenna, which was kindly donated by Raymond Long, was mounted and cabled to our cabinet.
On Sunday 21st June, Club members Dave (EI5IMB) & Malcolm (EI5JEB) visited site to patch the antenna to the repeater and perform testing.
After some initial issues & fine tuning, a number of QSOs were made to different operators at different distances from the repeater.
Finally, with remote assistance from Jason (EI9LB), the AllStarLink Node was connected to Truskmore and shall remain that way for a few weeks while we gather test & signal report data.
Thanks to all involved for getting this over the line and to all the remote operators for providing input/signal reports during initial testing.
We welcome any & all observations & signal reports to be submitted to donegalradioclub@gmail.com or directly to one of the Club Members.
